Informazioni
La Processione del Bacio è il santo rito che caratterizza la città di Troia durante la domenica di Pasqua. Una simile cerimonia, di probabile origine spagnola, ha luogo altresì nella città di Modica (Sicilia) e prende il nome di “Vasata”.
La statua della Madonna e del Salvatore, le quali partono rispettivamente dalla chiesa di San Domenico e di San Francesco, si congiungono nella piazza della Cattedrale della città: esse vengono avvicinate, allontanate e riavvicinate nuovamente per far sì che il Salvatore si inchini ai piedi della Madonna per il bacio finale.
La Processione del Bacio giunge così al termine, per lasciare spazio alla solenne messa pasquale celebrata nella cattedrale di Troia.
